Express Vehicle Hire handles personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- Name, phone number, email address and residential address
- Driver licence details, including licence number and expiry
- Payment card details for the hire charges and the security bond
- Hire records, vehicle condition records and toll or infringement notices
- Enquiries you send us through this website or by phone
Why we collect it
To verify your eligibility to drive, to enter into and administer a rental agreement, to process payments and the bond, to meet our obligations to insurers and to road and toll authorities, and to contact you about your hire.
Who we share it with
Our insurer where a claim arises, roadside assistance providers, toll operators and road authorities where required to nominate a driver, debt recovery agents where amounts remain unpaid, and law enforcement where we are legally required to do so. We do not sell personal information.
How we store it
Records are kept securely and only for as long as we need them for the purposes above or as required by law. Card details are handled through our payment provider.
Website data
Enquiry forms on this site collect only the details you type into them. If analytics is enabled, it records anonymous usage such as pages viewed and whether a booking or call button was tapped. We do not run advertising pop-ups or chat widgets on this site.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us. If you are not satisfied with how we handle a privacy matter you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
