Rental terms and conditions
These terms apply to every hire from Express Vehicle Hire, 1 Woodlands Rd, Liverpool NSW 2170. Figures marked for confirmation are set out in your signed rental agreement before you take the vehicle.
1. Who can hire and drive
The hirer must hold a full Australian driver licence, or an overseas licence we have accepted in writing before the hire. Learner and provisional licences are not accepted. Minimum driver age applies and affects the insurance excess. Only drivers named on the rental agreement may drive the vehicle.
2. Bond
A refundable security bond is held on the hirer's card at pick-up. The amount depends on the vehicle and is stated in the rental agreement. The bond is released after the vehicle is returned and checked, less any amounts properly owing under these terms.
3. Rates, GST and what is charged
Advertised daily rates include GST and are the total minimum payable for the hire period shown, within the daily kilometre allowance. There is no booking fee and no counter administration fee.

4. Insurance and cover
CTP (Compulsory Third Party) cover is included in the hire rate as required by NSW law. Express Vehicle Hire does not provide comprehensive vehicle cover. Any damage to the vehicle is the hirer's responsibility unless arranged otherwise — you may take out your own comprehensive or excess-reduction cover. The position is confirmed in the rental agreement before signing.
5. Kilometres and fuel
Each hire includes a daily kilometre allowance stated in the rental agreement. Kilometres in excess are charged at the per-kilometre rate stated there. The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level it was collected with; otherwise refuelling is charged.
6. Use of the vehicle
The vehicle may not be used to carry passengers or goods for reward unless we have agreed in writing, to tow beyond the manufacturer's rating, for driving instruction, for racing, or outside the geographic area agreed with us. Smoking in the vehicle is not permitted.
7. Tolls, fines and infringements
The hirer is responsible for tolls, parking fines and traffic infringements incurred during the hire, plus an administration charge where we are required to nominate the driver.
8. Breakdown, accident and damage
Roadside assistance is included. In an accident, the hirer must report it to us and to police where required, must not admit liability, and must obtain the details of any other party. Damage must be reported before returning the vehicle.
9. Extensions, late returns and cancellation
Hires may be extended by contacting us before the return time, subject to availability. Vehicles returned late are charged. Cancellation terms are set out in the rental agreement.
10. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies the consumer guarantees that apply under the Australian Consumer Law.
